Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (sc188)
This visa allows you to own and manage a business in Australia, conduct business and investment activity in Australia or undertake an entrepreneurial activity in Australia. The sc188 visa is the Provisional visa for 4 years and has the following streams:
Business Innovation Stream (188A)
This visa is for successful business owners or investors from overseas who are willing to invest in a new or existing business in Australia and lets you operate a new or existing business in Australia.
Investor Stream (188B)
This is a 4-year temporary visa that requires you to have maintained an investment of at least AUD2.5 million in Australia for 4 years and then apply for permanent residence through the Business Innovation & Investment (Residence) Subclass 888 visa.
Significant Investor Stream (188C)
This visa is for people who are willing to invest at least AUD5million into complying with significant investments in Australia and want to maintain business and investment activity in Australia. Applicants must be nominated by an Australian State or Territory government agency or Austrade.
Business Innovation Extension Stream
This provisional visa lets holders of a Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) in the Business Innovation stream extend their stay for up to 2 years or more in Australia.
Significant Investor Extension Stream
his provisional visa lets holders of a Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) Significant Investor stream holders extend their stay in Australia for up to 4 more years which is a total of 8 years from the date of grant of your sc188 visa in the Significant Investor Stream.
Premium Investor Stream (188D)
This provisional visa is for people who are nominated by Austrade and who invest at least AUD15 million in Australian complying premium investments and/or philanthropic contributions and are willing to maintain business and investment activity in Australia.
Entrepreneur Stream (188E)
This visa is for start-up and early-stage entrepreneurs who have been endorsed to develop their concepts and who have a funding agreement from a third party for at least AUD200,000 to undertake entrepreneurial activities that are proposed to lead to either the commercialisation of a product or service in Australia or the development of a business in Australia. Applicants must first be nominated by a state or territory government.
